La parálisis cerebral infantil: su impacto sobre el ajuste emocional y desempeño social de la madre / Infantile paralysis: its impact on the emotional adjustment and mothers social performance

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal con el objetivo de evaluar el comportamiento de factores emocionales y sociales en 30 madres de niños portadores de parálisis cerebral infantil. El 100 por ciento de las entrevistadas refirió que la enfermedad del hijo constituyó un serio problema, en un 73.33 por ciento afectó el ajuste emocional, el 90.47 por ciento% de las que trabajaban depararon de hacerlo. Al aplicarles la escala de autovaloración de Dembo Rubinstein el 100 por ciento, se situó por debajo del punto medio de la escala de felicidad y refirieron cambios de carácter. En la prueba psicométrica de los diez deseos el 100 por ciento consideró como su deseo más importante era ver a su hijo mejorar. Al aplicar el Modelo de Autoanálisis de R.B Catell en el 100 por ciento se apreció un elevado nivel de ansiedad. Es importante investigar sobre cómo la discapacidad en la descendencia afecta a los padres para implementar medidas que permitan ayudarlos a enfrentar esa situación(AU)

A cross-sectional descriptive study with the objective to assess the behavior of emotional and social factors in 30 mothers of children carriers of infintile paralysis was carried out. The 100% of the interviewees referred that child´s disease constituted a serious problem, in a 73.33 percent affected the emotional adjustment, the 90.47 percent of the ones who worked stop doing it. By applying Dembo Rubinstein autovaluation scale, the 100 percent was below the midpoint of the scale of happiness and referred character changes. In the psychometric test of ten desires the 100 percent considered as their most important desire was to see their son improve. In applying the R B Catell Autoanlysis Model the 100 percent a high level of anxiety was appreciated. It is important to investigate on how the disability in offspring affects parents to implement measures that would help them to face this situation.
